Steamboat Superpipe's got a state-of-the-art outdoor sound system, nearly

Historic tid-bits
So-named after the big wave break in the California surfing world, Mavericks emerged on the free-skiing scene in the summer of 2001 when the Park chose to supersize its pipe, carving a base in Bashor Bowl. New snowmaking in place one year later, Mavericks opened in December of 2002 drawing freeriders the world over, and exceeding all others in North America in its sheer length.
